The Battlefield 3 beta is in full swing and on the weekend some clever chaps decided to create a mod to the PC version in the game..The gamers modded the Operation Metro map to support 128 players instead from the standard 32 because why not right We knew these products were going to happen but that which you may not have seen coming was EA and DICEs response..According to Rock Paper Shotgun In an official statement on the forum which now appears like its been pulled they claimed that playing about the hacked servers can ca use your bank account being compromised stats being altered or another issues to arise which can cause having your money being banned by EA. If your account does get banned it mean every other EA game you've on your own account would be also unavailable..YIKES That is quite a punishment. Especially considering some of those mods are popping up in the official Battlelog browser. Considering that DICE has already come to repeat the Battlefield 3 is meant to the PC and being hand-crafted for your PC I understand they are protective of the product. But punishing the consumers who pay to the product only for experimenting after which threatening all the other products they taken care of within you seems just mean-spirited..What does one guys think concerning this Does DICE and EA hold the right to do this Have you seen any hacked servers or mods to the beta Do you believe hacking and modding for PC games is merely something publishers should stop worrying about Let me me know your ideas in the comment below.
